Love & Money 03:26
Love & Money I always said I could live without money as long as I had love I always said I could live without money as long as I had love Pennies would fall from heaven, we would keep warm by makin’ love We spent what little we had and never looked back We spent what little we had and never looked back Then the bills came rollin’ in, like a sucker punch to the back of the head 80 hours a week & no sleep, and you’re sittin’ at home 80 hours a week & no sleep, and you’re sittin’ at home Now we have money, but no love honey, what the hell happened to my happy little home? Now I know what it’s like to have love, but I need money too Now I know what it’s like to have love, but I need money too If you don’t get off your ass and get a job, I might have to walk away from you

Drop Into My Downbeat What they say about love is it makes you blind You don’t think twice about falling in line You don’t mind the things that would normally bother But I’m here to tell you now, I’ve done my time brother Won’t you drop into my downbeat baby Won’t you drop into my downbeat baby Won’t you drop into my Well I’m stuck on you and there’s no doubt I’ll be around and we’ll work it all out We’ve done the years and we’ve walked the line But I’ve been marchin’ to your drum a very long time Won’t you drop into my downbeat baby Won’t you drop into my downbeat baby Won’t you drop into my Oh Man leads woman and she falls in line Tradition dictates your very male mind I’m fed up, I’ve got a purpose too Not always just about your point of view Won’t you drop into my downbeat baby Won’t you drop into my downbeat baby Won’t you drop into my

Quit You 03:37
Quit You Chorus: I’ve got to quit you, oh I’ve got to quit you, babe How I wish you were good for me but far from truth as it can be so I’ve got to quit you I quit dinkin’ coffee, my heart was racing too fast I quit eatin’ chocolate, it was goin’ straight to my ass But sittin’ around pining for you makes me just as heavy you know And every time you look at me oh my heart just might explode Chorus I quit television, it was messing with my reality I quit eating spicy food, it was burning my heart badly But oh I burn so hot for you, that reality is danger my dear Not your touch & the fireworks but the ring of fire that I fear Chorus I quit drinkin’ whisky, it was makin’ me act stupid I quit smokin’ cigarettes, those damn things were gonna do me in but Might as well start up again, give me a bottle & a pack of smokes too I swear this desire is gonna kill me before they do Chorus

Trick of the moon I should have known that something wasn’t right when I couldn’t see the moon I should have known that something wasn’t right when I couldn’t see the moon Still I kept on ridin’ kept on goin’ I couldn’t get there too soon Oh I got inside the club and the music was startin’ to get hot He was starin’ right at me from the stage and I was startin’ to get hot Then Cupid’s tricky little arrow flew Oh! I knew I was caught Oh the crowd was jumpin, the air was sweatin’ His guitar was swingin’, and my heart was pumpin’ And I knew it was fruitless but I didn’t have the will to look away I had to step outside take a breath get my head on straight I had to step outside take a breath get my head on straight And the moon came out smilin’ like a cat asked if she was too late I said yes you’re too late can you please take this arrow from my heart Said I got it bad Sister Moon can you please take this arrow from my heart She said all in good time little girl, I just wanna watch you squirm for a bit Oh the moon was laughin, oh the moon was giggling And I was fumin’ at the trick she was playin’ She said I can’t help you sister, you gotta do this one yourself

Stone Walking I got one stone in my left hand, one stone in my right And I keep on walking forward watching my back for high tide I got one stone in my left hand, one stone in my right And I keep on walking forward watching my back for high tide Oh… watching for high tide Got a wet stone in my left hand, a dry stone in my right And I need a drink of water but all I see is wine Got a wet stone in my left hand, a dry stone in my right And I need a drink of water but all I see is wine Oh… all I see is whisky & wine Got one stone in my left hand, two stones in my right You say my mind is off a little bit but my balance is just fine Got a live stone in my left hand, a dead stone in my right My soul is in my pocket and my feet keep walking, keep walking Got a live stone in my left hand, a dead stone in my right My soul is in my pocket and my feet keep walking, keep walking My feet, keep walking, my feet, keep walking, my feet keep walking, walking well, they just keep walking...

Worst Kind of Lonely Somethings happened, you and I both know Whatever drew us together seems like 1000 years ago It was never hard to fill our time together, it was never hard to love each other Then he wedding bells rang, I had no idea they would hurt me so You claimed your independence, your absence told me where I stood Our lives grew out separate and together we could never find the good Our bed is warm from my slumberin’ but the fire is long long gone Even the moon weeps over us wondering what went wrong It’s the worst kind of lonely, together and lonely, Lonely, so lonely from being with you I have no doubt you’d stay til’ the forever end Oh but it’s killing me that you can’t even treat me like your friend I know you would never step out on me, in that way you would never do me wrong But you leave me wishing you’d give me a reason to be gone Just give me a reason to be gone It’s the worst kind of lonely, together and lonely, Lonely, so lonely from being with you

Wanderin' 05:42
Wanderin’ Tonight I was so lonely I called the weather & time just to hear somebody talk Tonight I was so lonely I called the weather & time just to hear somebody talk That voice was so so cold, had to go outside, go shake it off Tonight I was so desperate I went down to the grocery, when bein’ alone was just too much Tonight I was so desperate I went down to the grocery, bein’ alone was just too much Bumped into some poor soul on purpose just to feel a little touch Chorus: I’m wanderin’, I’m wanderin’ around inside my own broken heart I’m wanderin’, I’m wanderin’ around inside my own broken heart Loved you once, loved you twice, (damnit boy) you’ve about near torn me apart Tonight my heart was so heavy, nowhere to go but to the bar, find someone to talk to Tonight my heart was so heavy, nowhere to go but to the bar, find someone to talk to There were no answers there, only headache & heartache like I already knew Tonight my heart was so broken, brought myself down to sit by the riverside Tonight my heart was so broken, brought myself down to sit by my Sister Platte’s riverside Sister Platte was singin’ her own song of lonely, it felt good to hear her sing so sad chorus

about

Cedar Avenue Blues Band is proud and delighted to celebrate the release of their 1st CD. The band went “old school” on this project: all songs were recorded “live” in one session. The idea was to capture the vibe of a performance while retaining the modern audio quality of a studio production. These seven original songs feature superbly executed fat guitar riffs, deliciously driving big roomy drums, impeccably placed lucious bass lines, rich rip-your-heart-out vocals and shut-up-and-listen lyrics.
